I was remembering to call when I saw you pass, remembering I hadn't called in so long. I ran after you--without opening the door, I was in such a hurry. We were walking side-by-side then on a busy street. You didn't greet me or seem surprised that I was there. You were carrying two heavy bags in your hands and I had no pants on. You said: The people who write them have lost track of what a fortune is.

I like a shadow on a house. Games with singing. Mostly there were hours of deep shoveling. She wrote, re: viginity or death. I encountered rocks and buried metal. And there was that research that I had to do about the show Bonanza. I made a list and it didn't have "ear" in it. A kitten lived up to my expectations.
